Stress is probably your biggest enemy today! It is impossible to avoid and can quickly destroy your health. The more research I do the better I understand how destructive it is. Suffice it to say that whatever you have heard to date multiply it by about a factor of 5 to fully understand how destructive it is right now in your body.
Seeing as you cannot avoid it, you need to make serious efforts to counter balance its effects or you will pay dearly with poor quality of like, serious illness and disease and it possibly costing you 10 to 15 years of life – what a price to pay!!
Chamomile tea is one of the serious weapons you can use in the fight against stress. It is considered the most soothing plant on earth. It is amazing for the nerves and for digestive disorders. This is mainly down to one key constituent, a substance called apigenin.
German (often called Hungarian) chamomile tea is what I am talking about here although Roman (or English) chamomile tea has similar properties. It has an apple like aroma which adds to its appeal. Essentially it has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and infection fighting properties.
Studies have shown that it works on the same parts of the brain as anti anxiety drugs. It is great for sleep problems, indigestion, Irritable Bowel Disease and Diverticular Disease.
Side effects are virtually unknown and interactions with medicines are virtually unknown. It is however always recommended to keep supplements at least 3 hours apart from the times you take medicines for absolute safety. It can even be considered for children, during pregnancy and even while breast-feeding.
Take 2 to 3 cups of the tea a day. One of these can be an hour before bed to help with sleep problems. There are also capsules available which can be as strong as one cup of tea for those who prefer. Chamomile is also available as an oil or ointment for external use and should NEVER be taken internally.
